About Lyon Airport
Lyon Saint Exupery Airport is situated 24 km east of Lyon city centre, and provides convenient access to the popular and beautiful Rhone Alps region of France. Lyon airport receives flights from all over Europe, but also from Africa, the Middle East and many more.
Lyon airport has two terminals which are linked by a central hub containing most of the facilities. Domestic flights are handled at Terminal 1, while international flights are managed at Terminal 2. In both terminals, Arrivals are located on Level 1 and Departures on Level 2. Please note that there are two airports designated “Lyon Airport”. The other, smaller one, Lyon–Bron, is mainly a business airport.

- Disabled Facilities at Lyon Airport
Lyon Saint Exupery Airport is equipped with specially-fitted toilets, ramps and lifts located across the airport. There are designated parking places for disabled passengers in the short-term car parks situated opposite the terminals. There are ATM machines located in both terminals and in the connecting hall. There is also a post office and currency exchange booth in the connecting hall of Lyon airport.

- Lyon Airport Shopping
Most of the shops are located in the connecting hall at Lyon Airport. Among them you can find a wide variety of duty-free and regular goods, such as alcohol, tobacco, handicrafts, gifts, snack, newspapers and books. There is a comprehensive list of all the shops on Lyon airport’s official site.
- Lyon Airport Business centre
The airport has a business centre which can cater for up to 80 people, with 11 meeting rooms of various sizes that can be fully equipped upon request. Fax and Minitel services are also available in the connecting hall, located opposite the post office.
- Lyon Weather
Lyon has a temperate continental climate, with hot summers and cool winters. The hottest months are from June till September. Temperature can go as high as 27°C in July, dropping back down to 23°C by September. During the summer months the rainfall is quite low and night time temperatures are pleasant. October and November are mild months, which makes autumn a pleasant time to visit Lyon. However, this period is the rainiest time in Lyon. Lyon is located near the French Alps, which means that cold winds blow down from the mountain range to create very cold Lyon winters. From December till February the temperature rarely goes above 10°C. Harsh winds and frequent snowfall can make the winter feel even colder. Heavy snow falls in the mountains and Lyon lies close to numerous fantastic ski resorts such as Serre Chevalier and les Deux Alpes. During spring sunny days and pleasant temperatures return, together with a bit more rainfall. The average high temperature rises from a chilly 13°C in March, to a mild 16°C in April, to a warm 20°C in May. Night times remain very cold; the average low does not go higher than 10°C till the very end of the season.

- Driving to / from Lyon Airport
You can access Lyon Saint Exupery Airport via Junction A432, which skirts the airport along its eastern perimeter and links both route A42 (to the north) and route A43 (to the south).
Directions to Lyon Saint Exupery Airport (LYS) from the west of Lyon:
From the west of Lyon, take Highway A43 in the direction of Grenoble / Chambery and then join the A432 to the airport. Or you can take highway A42 in the direction of Geneva, and exit at Junction A432 for the airport.
Directions to Lyon Saint Exupery Airport (LYS) from Bourg-en-Bresse (north):
You Should head south along highway A42, then exit at the A432 junction, which leads directly to the airport.
Directions to Lyon Saint Exupery Airport (LYS) from Chambery (east):
Head west on Highway A43 toward Lyon, then join the A432 and follow the signs to the airport.
Directions to Lyon Saint Exupery Airport (LYS) from Valence (south):
Head north on Highway A7 towards Lyon, then take highway A43 to the A432 junction and follow signs for the airport.
