Gran Canaria Airport (or Las Palmas Airport) is Spain’s fifth busiest airport with an average annual passenger traffic of more than 10.5 million visitors. The airport has three terminals housed in a single building. The zones are: A for EU flights, B for other international flights and C for flights to and from other Canary Islands. The airport is situated 18 kilometers from the capital Las Palmas and 25 kilometers from the popular beaches on the south side of the island.

Gran Canaria Airport Taxis

You will find taxi ranks outside the Arrivals areas of all three airport zones. All taxis have a meter. On your return to the airport the taxi drivers will drop you off outside the Departures hall.

To and From Gran Canaria Airport by Bus

Public buses run from outside the Arrivals halls of zones A and C of Las Palmas airport. Buses leave to several destinations in Gran Canaria. Bus line 60 runs to Las Palmas, while the number 66 runs to Faro de Maspalomas.

Gran Canaria Airport Arrivals

After your flight have landed at Gran Canaria Airport, you should check the monitors at the entrance to the hall to find out which carousel you should go to collect your luggage. The number and origin of the flight is indicated above each carousel.
Zone A deals with EU flights and you collect your luggage from the belts marked 23, 24, 25 and 30 to 36.
Zone B deals with all non-EU flights and you collect your bags from the belts numbered 20, 21 and 22.
Zone C handles all inter-island flights. You can collect your bags from belts 10, 11 and 12.

Passengers arriving at Zones B and C enter the Arrivals Hall within the terminal at the same place. Heading straight for the main exit doors in front of you there is a taxi rank and the airport buses.
Zone A passengers enter the larger part of the Arrivals Hall and again there are buses and taxis just outside the main exit.
In the Arrivals Hall you will find a cafe selling snacks and drinks, a bank with an ATM as well as some newsagents.

Gran Canaria Airport Departures

Entering Gran Canaria Airport Departures Hall you will find the check in desks handling both flights to EU countries and Inter Canary Island flights and other non-EU international flights. All the destinations are indicated on the information screens.
After checking in, you should proceed to your departure lounge. Zone A is for all EU flights and is coloured pink. Zone B is for departures of international flights to non-European countries and coloured green, while Zone C is for inter-island flights and non-EU flights and coloured orange.
Departures take place from the first floor where passengers should proceed to the check-in desk of the airline company to obtain a boarding card and check their luggage in. The airport has 38 boarding gates, organised into Zones A, B and C.
